Quinoa with Apples Recipe

Quinoa is a versatile food that can be in a citrus salad for dinner or be a creamy breakfast cereal with warm apples and pears.  Here is a way that I used quinoa and apples this morning for a quick, hot breakfast.

Quinoa with Apples

1/2 cup quinoa, washed twice

1 cup water

1 apple, diced

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tblsp butter

raisins

agave syrup

Place the quinoa and water in a pan and bring to boil.  Simmer until the water is absorbed for about 10 minutes.

While the water is waiting to boil, heat the butter and cinnamon in a sauce pan.  Add the diced apples and cover.  Add the apples to the quinoa with raisins and agave syrup to taste.
