Medicinal Daikon

Acazia Gilmore, CSA member and Doctor of Oriental Medicine talked with me about the medicinal uses for daikon radish.  It can be eaten in several ways and here is the link to the recipe post.

  • It is helpful to clear mucous and phlegm in the lungs
  • Will relieve food stagnation in the stomach (help promote digestion), as it has been found to have digestive enzymes
  • It is a diuretic and will help clear excess water in the kidneys
  • Daikon is an anti-carcinogen and has the ability to help absorb toxic chemicals
