I talked with many of you today about the pea sprouts and ideas for eating. Many of you ate them on salads or sandwiches. Some people thought they had a stronger flavor and wanted to cook them or add a sauce to them. Below there is a sauce and a stir fry. Let me know if you have more ideas.

Raw “Peanut” Sauce
Kym sent me this recipe for a sauce that she uses with the sprouts. This recipe comes from Natalia Rose’s “Raw Food Detox Diet.”
1 cup raw almond butter
2 tbsp fresh ginger
water to thin (do this to taste, but be aware that the sauce thickens in the fridge)
juice from 1 lemon
1/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup
3 tbsp soy sauce (I like Bragg’s Liquid Aminos)
4 tsp sesame oil
3 cloves garlic
1/2 serrano or jalapeno
Toss into a blender and blend until smooth. I like it a little thicker, to use as a dip for veggies (especially carrots and celery). For sprouts, I toss them with this sauce and some sunflower seeds. It’s also excellent as a dressing for Asian coleslaw.
